Highlights include the salt museum and a small gift shop featuring locally made handicrafts. For lunch, you'll get the chance to try local flavors at the Palenque restaurant, the product of an international grassroots development initiative.

After lunch, you'll go to Hacienda Zuleta, a famous Ecuadorian hacienda converted into a first-class hotel. First built in 1691, Hacienda Zuleta was at one time a country home for a former President of Ecuador, Galo Plaza Lasso.
